DESCRIPTION: Imagine being the student that brought this strain to class thinking they might skirt by with at least a passing grade. The end result, of course, was far more than an A+ assignment. This strain was developed as a botany project at Cal State Berkeley by crossing two mystery strains and then backcrossing with a third. Only the breeders know exactly the plant’s genetics, but we’re sure they’re keeping it a secret for a reason.
With sky-high THC levels coming in at around 26% on average, it’s no wonder that this project was considered an overachiever. These dark dense buds are olive green and thick in all the right places. They are covered in orange hairs and sticky sweet resin, and give off an aroma of sugary sweet syrup and diced apple. The flavor profile is much the same as the aroma with just a hint of earthiness and pepper.
Berkeley is a 100% pure sativa, so the high is a lot of what you would expect from a pure sativa. Right from the first hit your energy will increase and your mood will shoot through the roof. You’ll suddenly become focused and motivated, so grab that art project you’ve been meaning to finish and get it done. This strain is a favorite amongst artists for this exact reason.
For medical uses it seems that there is no end to what this strain can do. However, if you suffer from PTSD or anxiety, stay away. Stay far away. This strain has a tendency to make your heart and mind race, causing extreme agitation to those symptoms. On a positive note, Berkeley is ideal for treating fatigue, depression, chronic stress, and mild pain.
As if this strain wasn’t a gift before now, surely this will make it so: Berkeley is an easy to grow strain with a high yield and a short flowering time. This plant grows between three and six feet and prefers cool to warm temperatures. Not too cold and not too hot should do this beauty just right. In just 4 to 6 weeks, you’ll get to see the fruits of your labor.
For an exciting and inspirational high, Berkley is definitely the strain you’d want to reach for. You’ll enjoy the energetic vibes you can bring to all of the projects on your to-do list and the creativity that pours from your fingertips. This is one of those strains that fans of pure sativas will be reaching for time and time again.
