CBD Lotion Recipe Steps
Decarboxylate Your Flower
Preheat your oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit. Grind your cannabis or hemp flower into small, even pieces about the size of a grain of rice, then spread them on the lined baking sheet—Bake for 45 minutes, or until the grinds are fragrant and golden brown. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
Infuse Your CBD Oil
Melt coconut oil in your double boiler over medium-low heat. Once it’s fully liquid, add the decarbed flower. Stir to mix, then let simmer for 3-4 hours. This step of our CBD lotion recipe infuses the CBD into the oil, so it’s vital to your DIY CBD lotion quality.
After a few hours, remove from heat. Strain the mixture through cheesecloth to remove the leftover plant materials.
Combine All Ingredients & Essential Oils
Melt the wax over low heat in a pan, then add CBD-infused coconut oil and olive oil. Stir to combine. Add these as if using essential oils, shea butter, or vitamin E oil. Once the mixture is well blended, carefully pour it into glass jars or tins to cool.
Now you know how to make CBD lotion!
