DESCRIPTION:
Clementine is a unique Sativa-leaning hybrid strain created by Crockett Family Farms, the same collective behind the renowned Chocolope strain. With its citrus, pine, and diesel scents and impressively large buds that taper into pointed, almost conical shapes, Clementine is a favorite among cannabis enthusiasts. In fact, a focused wax preparation of Clementine won the title of Second Best Sativa at the 2015 High Times Cannabis Cup, and cannabis testing lab Analytical 360 has measured samples of Clementine to have as much as 27% THC.
If you’re considering growing Clementine, note that it can be grown indoors or outdoors, but successful outdoor cultivation requires semi-humid weather with daytime temperatures between 72 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The strain has a relatively short flowering time for a Sativa, at 8 to 9 weeks when grown indoors, and growers can expect a yield of up to 46 to 55 grams (or 1.6 to 1.9 ounces) of flower per square foot of the plant. To preserve Clementine’s unique citrus flavor, growers should also cure their buds carefully by hanging them upside down by the stem for about a week, then sealing them in airtight jars in conditions of 60-65% humidity and around 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
In terms of its effects, Clementine offers a mellow high that stimulates unconventional thinking without the cerebral intensity that can come with some other Sativa strains. Smokers may feel more perceptive and attuned to their surroundings, making it a great choice for creative thinking and problem-solving. The strain also offers some mental benefits for medical cannabis patients, with its mood-enhancing properties potentially easing symptoms of stress and depression and its clear-headed focus potentially helpful for those with attention deficit disorders. However, because its initial cerebral effects come on quickly, Clementine may not be the best choice for those with lower THC tolerance or those prone to panic.
With its bold flavors, thoughtful high, and relatively moderate effects, Clementine is a great option for Sativa enthusiasts looking for something a little different. Whether enjoyed solo or in social settings, this strain offers a unique and enjoyable experience.
