DESCRIPTION: Berry Sanders is a name given to possibly several fruity-tasting varieties of cannabis. One well-document version of Berry Sanders is grown by Michigan-based breeders Mota Rebel as a cross between their own Lung Candy and Blue Mountain Berry. With high levels of CBD, Berry Sanders offers mostly heady, cerebral effects, tempered by a relaxing comedown. The strain’s THC content has been measured at as low as 9% and as high as 27%.

Berry Sanders is marked by typically large flowers that adhere in a chunky, elongated formation. The buds have an indica-leaning structure, with relatively small leaves that curl tightly inward toward their central stems. The leaves themselves are a dark shade of forest green and are threaded through with curly orange pistils. Finally, the compact nuggets are coated in translucent white trichomes that make them very sticky to the touch and difficult to break up without the help of a grinder.

When properly cured, Berry Sanders’ flowers give off the unmistakable scent of blueberry. On a second whiff, there are also some musky, earthy tones lurking underneath. Grinding up or breaking open the flowers gives off a tang of skunk. When Berry Sanders is combusted in a pipe or a joint, it gives off a harsh and pungent smoke. This smoke tastes fruity and slightly sour on the exhale.

Berry Sanders tends to hit the consumer relatively quickly, exerting an increase in blood flow to the head possibly before consumers have even exhaled its smoke. At first, this headrush comes with sensations like a pulsing in the temples and a possible increase in salivation. These tics are followed up by a kind of intense, focused thinking in which certain ideas seem to be more significant than they ordinarily might. Consumers may also find themselves pointing to connections between different concepts and grouping thoughts into categories. This kind of cerebral thinking may allow for work on complicated, analytical tasks. It may also provide a nice background buzz as you through the mundane tasks on your daily to-do list.

Berry Sanders’ versatile properties give it several applications for medical cannabis patients. The sense of focus that comes with its onset can help those with attention deficit disorders to stay focused on a single task. Its mild euphoria can also temporarily relieve the symptoms of stress, depression, and anxiety. Berry Sanders may reduce physical pain as well, whether it’s temporary, as due to injury, or chronic, as due to conditions like lupus. For consumers who are properly relaxed, the strain may prove to be an antidote to insomnia. Because it can bring about strong, recursive patterns of thinking, Berry Sanders is not recommended for patients who are prone to panic or who have a low THC tolerance.

Although seeds of Berry Sanders have been offered online through Mota Rebel, they do not seem to be consistently stocked. Those looking to grow the strain at home should seek out clippings that can be fostered as “clones.” Once obtained, plants may be grown indoors or (for those in a hot, humid climate) outdoors. Plants tend to grow short and bushy with strong lateral branching. Berry Sanders typically flowers within 8 to 9 weeks.

Thanks to its intense two-stage high, Berry Sanders is a good option for indica and sativa fans alike. If spotted on dispensary shelves, it’s worth snatching up for its balanced high and delicious smoke.
